Creating private and secure Message Boards

Example:
You are a department manager in a bank and you need to discuss bank policies with other managers on a regular basis. You want a message board that will enable you to post messages to the whole group and receive comments. You want the message board to be exclusive to your group so that nobody from outside the group (especially the customer who has been asking you about your leather coats since July) can read or post messages. It will be a message board dedicated to internal use. Providing that all the group members use the Safe-mailTM secure system, you can use the Message Board function to achieve your goal.

How?

  • Click the MSG Boards button at the top of the screen.
  • Click the Create Board button to create a new message board.
  • Fill in the name of the message board, its description, and other general information.
  • Next to "Readers" check the "Restrict reader access to the following list of users" option.
  • Fill in the user names of the people in your closed group who will be able to read messages that are posted on the message board.
  • Fill in the names of users whose authentication you trust, so that anybody they authenticate will be able to read messages that are posted on the message board.
  • Next to "Writers" check the "Restrict writing access to the following list of users" option.
  • Fill in the user names of the people in your group who will be able to post messages.
  • Fill in the names of users whose authentication you trust, so that anybody they authenticate will be able to post messages.
  • Click the Create button to complete your setup. You can change your definitions anytime by clicking the message board name and clicking the settings tab.
